What this site knows about you
A site that teaches you to ask “what data does this system use, and who benefits?” should answer that question about itself. Here is the complete answer — it’s short, because there isn’t much to tell.
What we collect: nothing
This site has no accounts, no sign-up, no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no cookies. We don’t know who you are, and we can’t follow you between visits or across other sites.
Right now we don’t even count page views. Nothing on this site reports back to us that you opened it.
That is likely to change: counting visits, cookie-free and without identifying anyone, is the one measurement worth having on a site meant to teach, and this page will describe exactly what it involves before it is switched on. It is not on today, and this page says so today.
Nothing leaves your browser at all. Fonts, code and images are served from this site itself — opening a lesson sends no request to font services, analytics services, social networks, or anyone else.
What stays in your browser: your progress
When you visit a section or mark it complete, that progress is saved by your own browser, on your own device, using a standard feature called localStorage (under the key “lysen-progress-v1”). It contains only which sections you’ve opened or completed — no name, no identifier, nothing typed by you.
If you switch between the light and dark theme, that choice is remembered the same way (under “lysen-theme”), and it then applies everywhere on the site. Until you switch, the hub opens in its own light theme and the subject sites follow whatever your device already prefers. Either way, nothing is stored until you choose.
This data never leaves your device and is never sent to us — we couldn’t read it if we wanted to. You can erase it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings; the site works fine without it, it just forgets your checkmarks.
Nothing you type is written down anywhere — not on our side, and not in your browser. Your answers inside the lesson exercises live only as long as the page is open. Close it and they are gone.
What the hosting provider processes
Like every website, these pages are delivered by a hosting provider. To serve a page and protect against attacks, hosting infrastructure briefly processes standard technical data, such as your IP address, as part of normal operation. That processing belongs to the host’s operations; we don’t receive it, store it, or use it to identify visitors.
If this ever changes
If we ever add anything else that touches data — for example a way to support the site — this page will describe it plainly before it happens, and the “last updated” date below will change. No silent additions.
